Unsubscribe links in marketing emails don't work
Just wanted to report that the unsubscribe link at the end of VM marketing emails doesn't unsubscribe the recipient (for me anyway).
A few months ago I opted-in to marketing emails via the checkbox in my online account. After a few weeks I decided these emails were not of interest and opted-out by clicking the 'unsubscribe' link at the end of the most recent email. This took me to a webpage with a slider switch at the bottom which I changed to disabled. Seem to remember the webpage advised it could take up to 6 weeks to change preferences so I expected a few more emails. However 3 months later I was still getting marketing emails. So I again clicked the 'unsubscribe' link at the end of the most recent email and was again taken to a webpage with a slider switch which this time was pre-set to 'disabled'. Decided then to check my online account and found the marketing consent checkbox was still ticked. I unchecked this box and marketing emails stopped straight away.
So it looks like whatever process VM have to deal with marketing opt-outs via an email link is not working correctly.
