Trying to renew contract and not getting any help

I'm running out of patience with Virgin trying to renew my package with them and failing. I was invited to renew my contract via email at a price I was happy with but the order didn’t go through despite receiving a pre-contract confirmation email with the attachments of the renewal details

Tried calling retentions and got through to an Indian call centre who weren’t that interested and tried to offer me different deals that were more expensive claiming that they don’t have access to the same deals that the web team do. I was then passed around various departments with the same outcome until I finally got to speak to a UK advisor who seemed to be very helpful - his name was Ian Jones and asked me to email my original email and the attachments over to and email address of his colleague called Lynda - he said he would discuss internally and get back to me with a solution.

Since then I have heard nothing and despite trying constant emails I have got no response. This all started whilst still in contract but now the contract has expired and the cost to keep the service is astronomical - all I want is to discuss with someone sensible who can resolve for the price originally agreed - I have since emailed to confirm cancellation but all I get is text and emails stating that I now need to pay the very expensive new monthly cost.

Is there any way of getting someone from VM to get involved and hopefully resolve.

  • Have you tried the WhatsApp messaging route?  You may have to wait an hour but you will get a response.  Just recently I managed to renew my package in a conversation with a very helpful chap.
