Transferred out but still being charged

I left Virgin on 28th July. I was out of contract and gave 1 month's notice. They acknowledged I was doing this with 2 or 3 emails. But they have nonetheless been sending me demands for money (luckily I expected them to be useless so I'd cancelled the DD mandate, so they don't actually have my money). I have tried various ways of contacting them. The closest I have got was to cancel the account again, which will be effective 20th September. Meantime though I have had a further 3 emails about increasing amounts of payments.

How do I get Virgin to actually close my account and stop contacting me?

Steve

  • Hi Daniel

Thanks for your help with that.

My final bill on 30th August was for £17.63 credit. I've been waiting patiently for it to arrive in my bank account, but no sign of of it so far...

Hey Steve9992, thank you for reaching out and we are sorry to hear you are waiting for your cheque refund.

As mentioned this can take up to 45 working days, this will come so please do not worry.

They can take up to 45 days to issue a refund.

I've recently closed an account for my mother and the cheque for the refund (why they can't refund direct to your bank account?) finally arrived 50 days after the account closure date.

And now almost 6 months on, the 3 email accounts which were linked to the VM account are still active and attracting nothing but spam. So much for being stopped after 90 says.

One of the community forum guys has been trying to help me with this but even he hasn't been able to beat the Virgin Media incompetence system yet.

Beware of defaults they might post on your credit record.  Their system will do this without hesitation, and it's very difficult to get them removed.
