Tenant eviction

Hi all,

Am feeling pretty desperate and was wondering if anyone's been in the same boat. Woke up to a text from our landlord on Monday saying that we're being evicted as he's randomly decided to sell the flat, we have four weeks notice so likely I'll have to stay with various friends for a while or try and find some temporary accommodation. My Virgin contract runs until next August as I thought I'd be staying in this flat for a while longer.. called the customer service team today who had limited to no sympathy and are saying it's going to cost £600 and there's nothing they can do about it even though I can't take my wifi with me. Can anyone help?!?! It's causing so much extra stress

Thanks

  • Hello bethp123 and John_GS!

Sorry you went through this Beth!! I find myself in the exact same situation now unfortunately :( Did you come to a good resolution on this? I have the section 21 I was served to hand and would really appreciate some help, as I can not afford the huge charge. Please can anyone help?

    Kindly

    Luke

Is it the case that VM will waive the termination fee if they are unable to supply the service at the new address ?

If you're on an assured shorthold tenancy then section 21 notice period is at least two months.
