If the accommodation has a TV aerial system, then an old Freeview recorder may be an option?
Hi Lj711
Other posts of yours such as those in <this thread> and <this one> indicate that you are the account holder and have a main TV360 box and a non recording box and have been in touch with retentions and told them to cancel your services.
You might receive a callback from the outbound team with a better offer however it isn't guaranteed. To have any chance of receiving a possible callback you need to ensure that marketing options are turned on in My Virgin Media.
I suggest signing into My Virgin Media and checking your Marketing & Contact Preferences. Under the Marketing Consent sub heading is a box that reads, 'Sounds good! Keep me up to date'. Make sure that the box next to it has a tick in it, otherwise you definitely won't receive a callback. If you do need to update those preferences be sure to click on Save Changes.
This thread heading mentions social tarifs. To be eligible for a social tarif with VM the account holder needs to be in receipt of either Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance. or Income-based Employment Support Allowance. However the < VM Social Tarifs> that includes TV with the broadband do not include a recordable TV box. It comes with the Stream box which is IP based and thus has no hard drive or recording capabilities.
There's a list of other ISP's with social tarifs on the ispreview site <here> you can check and see if you are eligible, however even if you do then you will have a the added problem of finding a deal with a recordable TV option. BT do have a recordable set top box (as do Sky) however they may not be available on a social tarif. You do need VM broadband to have any VM TV set top box.
Check out the new accommodation to see if it has a convenient TV aerial point. If it has, a Freeview recorder is the best option, with no contract required.
