Renewal Offer has Disney+ Premium Added?

I am coming to the end of my VM contract and have just recveived an online offer to renew for another 18 months.

I have Broadband and the Stream Box but currently no channels subscribed to it. I also have some O2 Sims and therefore gain Volt benefits on my broadband speed and Sim data.

Strangely the renewal offer contract includes Disney+ Premium under Broadband Services, which I have never had or want.

I contacted customer support to ask them to amend the renewal contract offer to remove Disney+ but they said they were unable. They suggested I sign the contract and then go back to them to remove it.

I would never sign a contract for something that I do not want with the intention of trying to get out of it later!!

Has anyone else received this and is there a way to remove it so that I can agree the contract?

Thanks

Clive

  • Hi Clive0522,

Thanks for your post and welcome back to our community.

We're sorry the renewal deal had an add on you didn't wish to accept.

The team won't be able to amend an existing online offer, however they can look at other renewal deals for you that don't include the Disney add on.

    Was this also discussed?

Please pop back to us when you can.

      Hello Vikki,

      Thanks for the reply.

I've just read the Disney+ add-on details as shown above in more detail and can see it says

"Your Disney+ Premium subscription fee will be added to the above monthly costs once you’ve activated it. The Disney+ Premium subscription fee
will appear on your bill once activated. Your promotional discount will be added separately for the agreed promotional period."

I only have Broadband and a Stream Box that now has no active subscriptions, so presumably Disney+ would have to be deployed through this.

Given the above reference to "once you’ve activated it.", can you confirm that if I do not activate this subscription through Stream then I will not be forced to take it and therefore not charged for it?

If this is the case then I will not have an issue with this renewal offer and can look to proceed.

      Thank you

      Clive

If the service isn't currently showing or activated, no charges should be applicable.

VM operate a multi-bundle discounting system where additional services often attract discounts, reducing the overall cost.

Is the inclusion of Disney+ causing you any inconvenience? Would it be viable to say "thankyou for the overall cost and for the freebie"?

If further action is required from you to "activate" the product, I'd be tempted to just not follow through on that. Much depends whether it's part of your core bundle, or listed as an add-on.

  • Sorry for the late response - I have been away for a couple of weeks.

Given my understanding that if I do not activate Disney+ through the stream service then I will not be charged (I do not have a TV box), I decided to agree the offer and signed up for another 18 months on 30th April.

I received the order documents with the above order date but upon my return now there is no sign of the order having been processed. I have just logged into my account and my contract is still the orginal one.

As it is now 15th May is this normal or has my order get lost somewhere?

    Please advise.

    Thank you.
