Renewal Dispute

So was offered a new price renewal in July last year at the end of my contract. Thought it was perfect, £56, less than what I'm paying now and no change to service...accepted straight away and received an email confirming this was done amd would start from the 31st July! And yet the only change I had was my bill more than doubling to £157 a month.

Now granted, I've been off the ball and let this carry on. But I've also been struggling with post natal depression, maternal PTSD and returning to work full time whilst raising 3 kids ...fair to say I've been a bit busy and pre-occupied.

So finally queried this with Virgin and all I've got is that offer is no longer valid, can offer £145 a month or lose some services and pay £115 a month.

I guess Virgin would rather see me go then honour what was offered and accepted back in July.

I just feel so disappointed and undervalued.

My biggest question though is where did it all go wrong? If I accepted and received the confirmation it was all done, where did it go?

  • What a rotten piece of information and the money ..I feel for you ..family/ mouths to feed /bill / living / health.. etc...but it is curious that you received just an email..... any contract ? .. when I renewed I received a few quid discounted from my package not much .. but what I did receive was a new written contract and all  detail in ' My Virgin Media ' .. which is just great ..more or less within hours of speaking .. in writing..... my account laid out for my perusal and information .. fine I was dealt with by an overseas agent for VM and I did not receive an email to my personal email address .. VM could not renege on the spoken word if you have a contract in writing .... just saying ..good luck.. 😊

No unfortunately not and being honest it wasn't something I checked either, I just went with the email which was probably my biggest mistake...with 2nd been not following up the overcharge! Honestly I'm fuming with myself at the moment...a sign I'm getting back to myself though!
