Problem linking VM account with VMO2

VM and O2 have seemed to merge with zero thought for there older customers , I received no mail telling me to update anything before the grand merger . I have been a customer for a long time and when the VM engineer set up my account we used my old email as a username which I have been using with no problems for many years have never been asked to verify anything . The problem is my username is not an active email , have spent many hours on the phone to yourselves have spoken to IT  and keep going around in circles this has been going on for over 2 weeks with promises of call backs that never come , I have not been able to access my emails for 3 weeks .

  • Trust me mine has been going on longer and they are not interested. How hard is it to update an email address?  I have tried ringing, doing online chats, even contacted through X. Taking up so much time  Not even a courtesy phone call. I'm sure if you were late with your payments they would be in touch quick enough

      Sorry to hear you're also having the same issue. 

      Have you tried the steps on an alternative browser at all?

    We're sorry to hear you've had some issues with setting up your VM O2 ID. As you've mentioned this is with IT, we'll need to leave this with them. They will try and resolve things remotely for you however if they're unable to, or need further information then they'll be in touch directly with you.

      Sorry but it has been over 2 weeks , I have explained twice to IT why it is important that I can see my emails , all communication for my disabled sons education etc is done through my virgin media email as well as my stuff . I have a VM O2 ID but can not link my VM account as my old email that was used as a username with my VM account is not active . You have my home number , mobile and an email and have not been reached out to .

  • Same problem, I don't want or need o2 and its asking me this, can't access services online or on the app.

      You can skip this bit.  I don't have O2 either.  However, I will say the "skip" option is not the clearest of options ...
