Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me urgently please. Today I received an email from Virgin Media with an order, advising me that my order is with Royal Mail and on its way to me. The problem is that I haven’t placed an order. I don’t know if someone has fraudulently opened an account in my name, or if it’s a mistake.

Possibly fraudulent. Possibly another explanation such as an admin error.
Are you a VM customer (sounds like you are probably not) or have you been in the past?
Does the email given an indication of what has been ordered?
Avoid clicking any links in the email. They may be the hooks to payment fraud.
It's a routine scam, flag the email as spam in your email client.
