Online renewal offers

Hi ,

My contract is due to end in January 2025. I have noticed that online (website) i have some pretty decent renewal offers showing already. I have never renewed online before (always over the phone), first of all are these offers correct? I understand that if i ring up up those over the phone cannot see what i have been offered online and, secondly, where do i go if something goes wrong? As reading previously through here, there have been problems with renewals not going through at all and then being told that it was an incorrect deal that was offered and it doesn't exist. I will do it online if its a simple process but i am worried about something going wrong. Are these deals likely to change as we get closer to January?

    My current discounts end in November. I've been receiving offers through My Virgin Media for the past three months. I've received three different offers in the past 7 days (they are the same offers that I've been receiving for the past 3 months).  The dearest renewal offer is £8 more than the least expensive, and the other offer is £1 higher than the least expensive.

    There have been issues with online offers being incorrect, although the same can be said with renewals made over the phone. You are correct is saying that telephone (and forum) agents don't have sight of online offers.

    Online renewals can take up to 10 working days to complete as they are processed by a back office team. If a renewal offer fails then you would be placed back onto your current offer and terms (where possible) and would be free to negotiate again.   

    If you are happy with any online renewal that's currently being offered then accept it -  once completed you also have up to 14 days to change your mind due to the distance selling regulations.

    In the past I've always found that the best deals are generally those offered within the last 30 days of your current  minimum term ending, or as the result of placing a cancellation request.
