New VM Phone Answering AI 'Person'

Like many others I have received a message whilst trying to access my email account saying that there was a problem and that I had to call 150 to speak to IT support. I was totally unprepared for the new voice activated system in place of the number press on the keypad. To say that this new phone answering bot is bad is massively understating how unbelievably frustrating it is. I actually had to end the call and ring back to start the process again as it kept going round in circles.

There is no option on the "tell me what you want" part for IT or email support. It couldn't recognise any letters from my memorable word despite the phonetic alphabet option it asked me to give. I thought I had misremembered it until I was able to speak to IT support who asked me again .... and I had got it right in the first place! In the end I have no real idea how I got through to a person other than just repeating "I want to speak to a person". It is SO bad!!

I wanted to leave this feedback in the hope that this message gets back to, hopefully, a person in VM who will scrap this ridiculously undeveloped AI until it works! But then again, why not just go back to the old way that did work??!! 

I really hope I don't ever have to phone again.
