New mobile telephone number updating the details impossible

Well I have a different mobile telephone number now and I thought to update/edit my personal id and accept let me edit.. says not possible try later.  I do not have a VM email address and use another which is quite acceptable to the system for billing , iinformation , emails from Virgin media and has been so for years.

The system will not let me update or edit my new telephone number ...says not possible try later ..I have tried several times without any success ... any person out there with more knowledge than me please could tell how to complete this basic change ,, ?

    Still not letting me put my new M/T/No into account information ... who cares ?
