New contract - Payments query

I had my virgin home telephone disconnected in December and agreed a new broardband band deal for £35 a month. My first two payments were £72 and £105. I have asked virgin and there have said that the bills are correct. Pro rate charges. I'm not happy about this can someone please explain this to me
