My contract ends on 5th Jan 24. If I cancel on that date will i get any charges.

I tried to talk to Virgin to arrange a deal in line with a Sky Deal which was £43 and gave me basic channels and 145mb ave speed.  All virgin did after over 2 hours of trying 3 different people is to offer me the package I am on for a lot more money or a lesser package for £95. giving me everything i asked them to remove. NO MOVIES. NO SPORT, NO KIDS Channels. NO PHONE. 

Now I have arranged to move to sky for the £43 package they have with Netflix included. I have never been so annoyed and was getting angry as they clearly only had 1 mission retaining me on a package I no longer wanted. 

In 4 days my contract ends which was, VOLT Max Package i was paying £78 for with 02 sim. 

if I contact them on the last day and cancel will i be subject to any chages as i will be out of contract then?

I have read that following that date my contract becomes a rolling contract at the standard rate and they can charge me a full months fee. But If i contact and cancel on the very last day I would not be in a rolling contract and also I wont be in the rolling contract either is this right

thanks for any help guys, sorry still cooling down after over 3 hours of trying to sort this out. hanging up on me and people who just did not listen to what i said i was looking for.

    You, presumably, are referring to your minimum term period with VM coming to an end on 5 Jan 24.

    When your minimum term ends, you move to the 'standard' price for your package unless you do something to change that (namely renew or give notice to cancel).

    You have to give VM 30 days notice to cancel.

    VM continues to bill you during the 30 day notice period as per normal, right up to your date of disconnection .

      There's plenty of case history, in past topics on here, about why prematurely cancelling a direct debit, when leaving VM, is not a good idea.
