Moving to virgin

Hi I need help. I pay the broadband at home currently with EE paying £34 a month. Sister has found a better with virgin they knocked on the door a couple of weeks back saying if we switched they’d covered termination fees. Is is true? I would have to pay around £300 to cancel, the new broadband with virgin would be in my sisters name. Would I definitely be able to get the termination fee paid for by virgin?

As above, no, VM< do not ever, ever pay out a termination few. Your sister was simply lied to in an attempt to get her to sign up in which case their get a commission pay out,

  • Hi Lukeufc 👋 Welcome to the community forum! Thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear these concerns about a deal being offered to join our services.

We don't usually offer to pay termination fees as standard - but there are some joining deals available (particularly with in person sales) where we offer a welcome credit of several hundred pounds. This may be the equivalent of paying your termination fee. Any credit is usually applied to your account and then deducted from future bills, unless we specifically arrange for it to be sent via cheque - which can take up to 30 days to arrive.

My best advice would be to get formal confirmation of any deal agreement terms from the agent selling you the contract. This way we have evidence we can use to investigate your case in the circumstance things don't go as planned. (Hopefully this wouldn't happen! But it's better to be safe.)

Hope this helps clear things up! 🤞 Let us know if there's anything else you need. All the best! 🌞
