Moving to a student deal from an existing account

Hi all,

I'm heading back to university this autumn so I was wondering if I could take advantage of the deals available to students. I'm a longstanding customer (right from Cable-Tel, through NTL and Virgin). My current contract is up in November.

Anyone have any experience of how VM handles a change in a customer's "status"?

Cheers all

They are not simply going to change the contract to a different one until it's finished. You could change the address to your new one at the University, and get a new deal when it's finished.

Well, this is why I'm asking. At worst, they say no (though I don't know why). Mid option would be allowing me to change contract when my current one runs out. Best (for me) would be moving to a new contract as soon as my "status" changes.

        Hi GrouchoSeven,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

Student broadband deals are eligible for uni accommodation. I'm therefore unsure if this can be applied at your home address also.

Please contact our sales team and they'll be able to confirm if a student deal can be applied for you 😊

Our sales team can be reached on 0345 650 4545.

  • As a mature student are you staying at home or moving to uni accommodation? Most halls of residence etc have broadband access already.
