Made homeless and can not afford to pay full early termination.

Hi,

Had to leave my previous accommodation due to circumstances outside of my control and I am now homeless. I contacted virgin media to hopefully pause my contract as I am aiming to be in a property again in the next coming months. I was told this is no longer possible so I have had to cancel my contract after being with vm for years.

I contacted an agent again today to explain situation and to hopefully set up a payment plan as I can not afford to pay the full amount of the termination fee right now. I was told this is not possible either and that if I can not pay in full it will be passed to a collections agency and a default reported on my credit file.

I desperately need to avoid this if I plan to get another home arranged as soon as possible.

Is there any help at all that can be provided by Virgin Media for this situation? All help is greatly appreciated.

  • Hey Rwgylie, thank you for reaching out and a warm welcome to the community, I am sorry to hear about your situation.

If have been made homeless and was given an eviction or leave notice do you make the team aware of this?

Do you have any type of proof that you are now homeless such as one of the above notices?
