impossible to speak to anyone

As my contract was running out I started trying to contact VM to discuss options to see if they could better the other various cheaper options I have available, but it has proved impossible to speak with anyone. 
I then had to travel for family emergency so was overseas when the contract ran out and have been charged a stupid amount for the out of contract month I am no in . I have spent hours trying to contact since returning and simply do not have that kind of time spare so I am incredibly frustrated and annoyed at the pathetic customer service.

I simply want to :

1. Speak to someone about the account and see if a better offer can be agreed

2. If not, I want to know exactly the timings of the service end , payment dates etc as this is not clear and I need to ensure the service from the new company I use  crosses over as I cannot have days without internet as my job is 100% internet based

I do NOT want:

  • to be told to use message / chat because that doesnt work (spent hours only to be told cant be helped)
  • be told to use whatsapp, facebook etc - I dont use those or other social media services
  • be given the standard number to call , because that does not enable you to speak to a person but sends you wrong in menu circles and wastes your time for no reason
  • be told to check 'My Virgin Media' for package open to me - because that just says to ' Message Us'

I think this is my last gasp attempt to see if there are actually people that can help before I sign up with someone else and cancel the direct debit to VM

  • Once your contract ends, you are automatically moved to a rolling monthly contract until you end it.

    If you are moving to another provider, use OTS so you don't need to contact VM at all.
