Illegal, shameless money-grabbing by VM
NEVER USE VM!!! They are a disgusting company willing to use their large status to abuse their customers. I am in contact with a lawyer to pursue legal action assuming they continue with an unlawful charge on my account, but wish to alert other customers as early as possible to the unethical actions of this company.
I have moved to a new flat outside of Virgin Media’s coverage, and per my contract, I am able to terminate without an early termination fee provided I give proof of address - in THEIR EMAIL, they say a PDF rental agreement under 20MB is a valid proof of address. Three times, I send them the original copy of this document via email.
Each time, they claim they are “unable to open the file”. This is ridiculous. It is not password-protected, is under 20MB, and I have tested opening it on multiple devices with different operating systems. I have abided by all requirements requested and yet Virgin has refused to remove the charge. In doing so, they are breaking the law and committing financial fraud.
I opted to give the benefit of the doubt and assumed there was some mistake, so I called the support line. The representative confirmed my document was correct and valid but was unable to remove the charge himself. He recommended I contact online text chat.
I contact online text chat and they say they are unable to help and say they have submitted a complaint on my behalf.
The complaint “resolution” is to provide me extra guidance on billing - that’s not a resolution to my issue, and they didn’t even provide me any guidance.
If there is any semblance of decency in this disgusting company, they’ll get into contact with me ASAP to resolve this matter and remove the charge. However, they appear keen to take advantage of me and force me to pay a fortune because I am powerless against them.
