Hub upgrade from 3 to 5 - has anyone done it after new contract

Today I contacted VM as my current deal was coming to an end (Think it's Maxit TV with 250MB BB)

After reviewing everything and being offered a deal on M500 as I said I would change to broadband only from TV/phone/Broadband. We have various streaming apps and can watch normal TV via Freeview anyway.

Anyhow, I asked if I could upgrade my hub from the very poor WiFi Hub 3 to a Hub 5. 

The agent said I would need to speak to Tech support, but I didn't want to sign up and then be told no you can't upgrade after. Has anyone had an joy with upgrading Hubs? As it stands from today I'm in my 30 day notice period which is a shame as the broadband has been good except for the poor WiFi, but other companies all have WiFi6 routers.

    A change from a Hub 3 to a Hub 5 is not likely to produce any significant improvement in Wi-Fi coverage.

    We require a VM Hub + a pair of Wi-Fi Access points to cover our home.
