Have I been mis-sold?

Some months ago I had someone from VM knock on my door, said I could get high speed fibre in my area, my existing provider wasn’t updating the infrastructure in my area, the speeds were abysmal, and VM was cheaper by £10PM. No brainer. I was told that my early leaving fee would be covered by VM. Perfect!
Skip forward, I’ve moved over to VM, 2 VM bills paid, called up to speak about the early leaving fees, told to wait 45 days!??
called again and was told to email my final bill over to an email address that pinged the email back at me!
I began a web chat and re-explained the situation, was told to live chat with someone on WhatsApp, I sent a message and the owner of the account messaged me back straight away to say they weren’t VM and they’ve had hundreds of people messaging them about their VM accounts. What the hell is going on! Where do I send my final bill? Everyone I speak to can’t help, if I can get to speak to someone, I would just like to send my final bill in, which I have now paid myself because I was on the verge of being threatened with legal action from my previous provider. Do any of you lovely people have any idea??

This isn't the first, and it won't be the last, topic about the antics of VM field sales agents.

We have seen lots of claims on here, in past topics, from these door-to-door sales bods that VM will pay off early disconnection fees. I can't recall reading a topic on here where anyone has confirmed this did eventually happen.

What evidence did you collect of all the details of this offer before you and the agent parted company?

Thank you for your reply. I have his contact card and mobile phone number. The person I have just spoken to at my old provider has said he has heard that VM aren’t as good as they used to be.

  • I’ve managed to find an online complaint form!  I’ve just put in a complaint!

It is possible that your VM complaint will be closed down very quickly (and maybe without VM even contacting you). Should that happen your next route would be via the ombudsman as explained below

      https://www.commsombudsman.org/our-process

Your chances of success may depend on what evidence you have of the deal that was offered and also the actual amount of the EDF you are trying to claim.

A VM person will reply to your topic, usually within a few days.
