Free TNT sports con

I received an email this afternoon offering free TNT sports for the remainder of my contract in view of Eurosport no longer broadcasting from the end of Feb.  To activate, I was advised to add via my 360 box.  The box wouldn't let me do this and told me to contact customer services which I did, only to be subjected to numerous attempts to upsell and change my package and being told they couldn't do this!   I now face loss of Eurosport and no ability to get TNT without paying!!!  Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Does anyone have the steps needed to claim this offer? My mum received the email and can't figure out how to claim it. She has a Tivo box.

  • I also had this problem. I first got put through so a team based outside of the UK who didn't know what email/offer I referred to. I was then put through to a team in the UK, who apparently didn't know what I was talking about but offered me a £17 discount so I would only pay £1 extra per month, which I refused. Then I was asked to forward the email to one of the supervisors, who then insisted I upgrade throough the box, but the box was telling me to call to upgrade, but the phone-based team were telling me to do it on the box, but the box was telling me to call, etc.. 37 minutes on the phone and no progress so I gave up, and I'm still not able to upgrade through the box a few days later. Hoping someone from the Forum Team can help!

  • Just to say, I’m having terrible problems with communicating with Gareth L on private messaging. I hope he will see this.

the upshot of it all is that I have managed to contact Retentions and all is sorted out. I have confirmation through about my next bills and all is in order. I have the promised offer.

what an unnecessary palaver all this is !

  • I've had the same issue as everyone else. Added this offer and the monthly fee has been added to my bill. I just rang the Virgin customer services number and feel like I'm going through a maze trying to work out which option will take me to someone to speak to to rectify this. Tried a couple of times but no joy. Can anyone advise?

It seems this is all hit and miss.. Lickily I got through to an agent who knew what I was talking about once she looked into it and has rectified the charge levied.

i chose the change your package option and it worked. Seems to depend on who you get to speak to.

Hard work, and shouldn’t be necessary

Thank you, I'll persevere! What a waste of everyone's time!

  • So, despite thinking this had been resolved to my satisfaction, I have now received my first bill since the ‘fix’.  You guessed it, I am being CHARGED for TNT sports.  Worse still it also looks like an adjustment charge has also been added.  This is unacceptable and needs fixed  quickly please.
