Final Bill payment

Hello all, I recently cancelled my Virgin Broadband and phone line within the 14 day cooling off period and have switched to a new provider and I logged into my virgin media account today and was shocked to see they are going to charge me a final bill off £423.27 which is ridiculous as I cancelled my services within 14 days and paid my last monthly bill aswell.

Before I cancelled I spoke to Virgin Media CS via Whatsapp and was advised by 3 advisors if I cancel within 14 days I will not be charged a early disconnection fee. I did use the One Switch service to change broadband provider, absolutely fuming atm regarding this!!

Virgin mentioned they will take the final bill out on 13th October, what can I do regarding this as I feel I do not have to pay for this early disconnection fee as I cancelled well within the right time frame.

I would appreciate if somebody can look into this for me and I want this fee waived!!

  • Hi RamzArshad2786

Welcome to our forums, and thank you for your first post. Sorry to hear you are shocked by the Early disconnection charges. We would be happy to look into this for you. We are sending you a private message. Please keep an eye out for an envelope at the top right corner of your Forum page. Let me know if you have any issues locating this.

    Thanks,

  • Apparently the reason why they charged me the final bill was because I didnt notify virgin media to cancel within 30 days, ive paid the final bill early disconnection fee but i think it's ridiculous to be honest. Even though I used the one time switch to change provider, will never use Virgin again. Absolutely disgusting and its not right

Looking at your previous posts, namely <this one> from 9 months ago, you were still in a minimum term contract as you upgraded to the Volt 1Gig plan.    That would have meant a new contract and new minimum term so there is no 14 day cooling off period.

  • I had a new contract package updated on 16th September and cancelled within the 14 days cooling off period

If you started another new package on 16th September and cancelled that within the 14 day cooling off period then you would have reverted back to your previous minimum term contract that you switched to 9 months ago, and to cancel you would then have had to pay the reminder of that contract
