I have sent umpteen emails but nothing has been done.

If you are contacting the ombudsman services again regarding the original resolution then be sure to use https://www.commsombudsman.org/raise-dispute/virgin-media-o2
(From 1st January 2026 VM are using https://www.cedr.com/consumer/cisas/overview/ as if your case has previously been investigated by the Communications Ombudsman, you cannot appeal the decision or raise a new case about the same issue with CISAS)
and if you go back to the ombudsman ask'suggest that they should implement a further cost to VM of £150 for the delay
If VM has failed to deliver a ruling from the ombudsman, you should go back to the ombudsman to get them to follow up with VM.
I have on numerous occasions. Now all VM have to do is refund me for two months of overpayments.
Imagine if you owed them money 🙄
