Chat team started a new 2 year contract without telling me.

Hello, I'm Kirsty I hope I can get help here as chat team are unreliable.

I've spoke with the chat team a few times in last week or so because they added 2 years on my contract date after I moved home. They said they sorted it but it still said two years in the app, so I contacted them again and now it says in "out of contract" but today I got an email with a new 2 year contract which I never accepted, asked for or implied I wanted.

I told them my contract end date is 24th Dec 2025, they disagreed for some reason and asked for proof, so I sent them proof of the original contract, then they agreed it was 26th Dec 2025 after "checking again"

I do not want a new two year contract with my old price, it reaches £44 a month in the last year and that's unaffordable for me. I've asked them for the price on their website for me to renew and they declined so I said I'll leave in December, but now I wanna leave soon as I can

This whole thing is has been so stressful for me but I'm not accepting this fraudulent 2 year contract.

Thank you in advance for anyone who can help me

    Hello Kirtsymcd

Sorry to hear of the contract end date issue experienced and the problems getting this resolved when speaking to the team, we understand the concern this can cause and are happy to help via the forums.

As Adduxi has mentioned, if it was just a transfer of services from one address to another the contract should continue from the same point of the previous address, a new contract would be issued if any changes were made to the services either adding, removing or upgrading.

I will send you a Private Message, please keep an eye out in the top right when signed into the forums for the envelope. This is where you will be able to find my Private Message and be able to respond.

If you simply moved house this should be a "Move and Transfer" with no changes to your contract at all.  The only change will be a new account number, as these are tied to an address, not a person.

If you wait here a day or two a VM Mod should pick this up and discuss directly with you.

Yes that was the original problem, they didn't switch me back to my proper contract end date after 2 months following the move, this was the reason i originally contacted them. It was showing "contract end date 2027"

They told me they fixed it but i guess all they did was open a new contract till 2027, which i found out about this morning with the email.

The usual VM unethical practice is to start a mover on a new contract and hope the customer does not notice or object.

  • I spoke with the team and they made everything good. Thank you Robert_P
