Changing the account email when I dont have access to the email!

As the title says, help or suggestions please!  I am locked out of the email (due to no longer owning the domain) that is associated with my Virgin account.  How do I change the email without access to that specific email?

    To have an email with us you must be an active customer, otherwise the email would get deleted and we cannot get this back sorry.

    What do you mean by owning the domain, we don't sell our email domains?
