Change ownership of account

My family member has the VM in her name, she no longer lived here but not only do we want to change the ownership over to myself but keep the landline number.

we are out of contract with VM, is it simple as open an account with new provider with my name and port the number or do the account details need to match at both ends?

what is the best way of doing this please. Or do change of ownership and within 14days cooling off arrange for contract to be cancelled. We cannot lose our landline number.

  • Hey Hazman1, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear this situation, I would advise reaching out to the movers team to let them know this.

    Either way we would need to speak to the original account holder to cancel this if you wanted to go down this route.

      If we are out of contract do we still need to call cancellations? 

      also as im taking over and keeping the number do the details need to match?

        Hi Hazman1 thanks for posting and welcome to our community.

        After a minimum term contract ends, then the account goes onto a rolling contract. So you would indeed need to reach out to our customer relations team on 0345 454 1111 from any other network. Or 150 free on our landline service. If you're looking to keep a landline number then it's usual that you have to live at the same address and have the same surname.
