Cancelling virgin media broadband, will they call back?

Hi everyone. I rang virgin today to cancel my contract which ends on 2nd January. They’re trying to increase to £57 a month for 200mb of broadband, didn’t seem interested in keeping me when I told them to cancel then. Wondering if I will receive a call back or not? My contract was £28 a month for 200mb didn’t want to pay even that was hoping for £24 as I’ve seen people get it for £21! Just far too much for me.. any help please

You might get a call back from retentions, but in any case if your current 12/18/24 month contract ends on 2/1/24 you will just be placed on a monthly rolling contract. To cancel you MUST give 30 days notice, so it will not terminate on 2/1/24 unless you pay an exit fee, probably just 1 months fees. If you wish to terminate your contract I would send a ‘signed for’ letter to cancel it, the only sure fire way to know it’s cancelled, but don’t forget the 30 days notice.
