Cancellation since renewal offer not reasonable

I have been a loyal Virgin Media customer for many many years since the NTL days. Generally happy with the services except for billing issues last year which took many calls over many months to get sorted.

My contract is expiring soon and the renewal offer is quite expensive, so have put in a cancellation request. I am hoping someone from the Forum team can look at this and provide better deals.

    The ‘Forum Team’ have nothing to do with providing better deals, it’s up to retentions. You have to phone up.

    If you have put in a cancellation, you might get a call back from VM's retention team (but no guarantee that will happen though). Having marketing options turned on in 'My VM' is recommended to allow such a call to take place.

    Any offers made tend to last only for the duration of the phone call and are gone later on if you ask to think about it and call back. To that end, it is worth checking out the pricing for any comparable service provider you intend to move to and having those costs at your fingertips. That way you will know if any offer VM comes up with is any good or not if you do get a VM call back.

  • Thanks for your replies. I have tried the phone and chat options  with the retention team but to no avail. If they come back with a decent offer, well and good, else would be goodbye to Virgin Media after nearly two decades

      Sorry to hear you are considering leaving based on the deals offered to you at renewal, and that you have had a poor experience with us Sadly we don't generally offer support with package changes via this platform, as they are best completed in real time. It's also worth us mentioning that the best available retention offers will have been offered by the retention team you have spoken to on the phone already.
