Cancellation fees

So I'm having to move back to my mothers house, due to unforeseen circumstances. Anyway, I can not take my services with me as my mom already has Virgin at the house and obviously can not have 2 supplies going to one address. But I'm being told that I still have to pay fees to have my services cancelled. I even had the guy on the phone asking me where my next address would be after I stay at my moms.. Something I couldn't answer as ill be staying there for the foreseeable future. What can I do about these fees as I can not afford to pay them and its not my fault I'm having to move back to my mums house.

It's not your fault, but it's not Virginmedia's fault either. You signed up to pay for a fixed period and they will want their money.

  • Unfortunately leaving any contract early will incur termination fees.
You may get some relief if you can prove you have been illegally evicted but if it is solely for personal reasons then you will need to pay the fees, if you don't then VM may take measures to recover the debt.

There have been occasions when VM have allowed 2 connections to a property, you could try and get a transfer.
