Broadband contract ended - monthly cost up

It ended on 18/4/25 just broadband, I'm on Gig1 full fibre,  Mega TV , Bigger Combo bundle & TV box Steam box, the monthly cost has gone up from £48.37 to £76.37

The Bigger Combo bundle is normally £127.37 but it says on my bill, Promotions & discounts Cr£51

Hence that's where the £76 comes from, I want to reduce this, what's the best way to approach this, I know their customer services is not the best but got to start somewhere

Thanks

  • Thanks for reaching out to us Stephen93, and we're sorry to hear of the ending of the contract, and prompting an ending of the discount issued to you.

As we don't cover renewals here on our Community Forums, please call our team on 0345 454 1111 or 150 from a Virgin Media landline phone and our team will be best placed to accommodate.

Your best bet is to call close to our daily opening time of 8am to avoid call queues that tend to build up during the course of the day.

    Thanks,

  • Been on Webchat for 5 hours passed from pillow to post, finally to customer relations, all I wanted was to change my broadband speed as my contract had ended, instead of reducing my monthly bill, it increased by another £20 from £76 to £110, I turned it down

I then looked at the VM website, I know all deals are promotional, you get a reduced price for 18 months then it goes up, so in effect your out of the promotional deal, I wanted the 300Mbps with the Bigger Combo bundle which adds up to 38.99 a month

Tried to get this deal but couldn't they said it was promotional,  but how can it be as it outside the 18 months.

what I was thinking is that it's out of the 18 months so just a normal contract, but if your outside of your contract you have to pay full price for Mega tv, unless when you first join VM your Mega TV deal is discounted forever but if your an existing customer & want to reduce your costs you have to pay full price

    Not impressed

Sorry to hear we've not been able to offer you a better deal Stephen93, we certainly hope you're able to continue negotiations with our team to find the most suitable deal with Virgin Media.
