Just a quick question - went to sign into email it say's about adding an back up email? I am abit lost on whats happening i haven't done anything exit it - tried sign in accnt same thing
does it matter what back up email you use? or has it got to link with the account holder?
Just checking what i will have to do as behalf of accnt holder
so if any mod's have time please could you kindly explain whats happening ? make sure i do everything correct

Have you setup the new mandated VMO2ID account? This change was implementated a couple of weeks ago. It's to give a "Seamless Login" to both VM and O2. If you don't have O2 you can skip the O2 part of creating the new VMO2ID account.

slowstar The backup email can be any email address that you have access to. It cannot be one of the VM domains i.e. virginmedia.com, blueyonder.co.uk, ntlworld.com. virgin.net.
If you are doing this on behalf of another account holder then the email address should be one that they can access if you are not around to help.

No i went to check emails and it came up about back up email so i exit it - have i got to follow verity its you but the a holder is vm only not 02 and then can access email / accnt? Sorry not very tech savvy
So can i use my email for back up veritfy its you

slowstar Yes, if the account holder is happy for you to do so. However, you may consider creating a new email account with one of the free providers such as MS Outlook or Gmail and use that as the backup email for the account holder.

Its the main account unsure of what a secondary account is - so sorry
used to log in with vm e and password for both accnt and email but i think its all changed with something new to do with 02 ? I am checking what to do because i logged in with email for vm accnt and put password it then it came up with "add an back up emaill address" i didnt know what to do so i exit - looks like there are three steps i have to do before accesing email and accnt like before? Just abit lost and worried because i dont want to effect anything as its on behalf of my mum as i do tech side ( try my best) didnt know if i have to do this or is it a scam all abit lost so i really appericate your reply @Matthew_ML

It won't affect anything its just a new process we have brought out.
Let us know how you get on, you just use the same email.
