anyone else getting scammed? reddits full of the same situation

Been getting charged ridiculous amounts as is happened in the past. I have vulnerable people living in my household on low income and have been absolutely scammed by virgin media. Tried getting through on the phone to no evail for 3 days now. The webchat team deliberately pan you off through various transfers and deliberate wait times, when i mention my issues i get transferred and am faced with infinite wait times 6 hours i was waiting in one chat however when I tried to get through on another device I was connected immediately. The customer service is the worst I have ever exprienced in my life and it seems as though this is a common problem. On top of that the ridiculous pricing for a service that is advertised for less than half the price and is worth half the price as the advisors although they offer me a different price everytime I talk to someone the offer is always atleast half the price. I seriously need help and suggestion in how to resolve this as Ive exhausted all options and spent over 12 hours trying to get through to someone Please help if you know how to resolve this thanks in advance

If you aren't a new customer then the advertised deals do not apply to you.

Out of contract prices are detailed in your contract, so I'm unsure how you can use the word 'scam'.

Yes, the customer service is not great.

Just cancel and move to another provider.

Use OTS if you don't want to speak to VM.

appreciate the response but not very helpful and unsure why you would respond as they are obviously not viable solutions. the advisors have offered me the same product for half the price and have increased my bills to more than double without notification and even if i was to have been notified ive spent 3 days trying to get through to no avail so how can i make any changes. I say scam because ive been through this before with virgin and after an 8 hour phone call and being called a liar by the team after providing proof through various transcripts and emails i was awarded a full years worth of internet because they had been overcharging me for so long. Not many people, especially vulnerable people who cant access the internet or can be more easily mislead would accept these overcharges. I would love nothing more than to change to another provider but with needs for a fast internet connection no other company has the speeds that virgin has in my area and wouldnt suffice my needs for work, they are a large company and i shouldnt have to spend days debating and bartering with them for something everyone knows they can provide without all this hassle

Unfortunately I'm not clairvoyant, so I wouldn't be aware of availability of other ISPs in your area.

Just phone at 8am when the lines open and you'll speak to someone UK based.

Unfortunately, that USED to be the case, but I can tell you that when I tried this before I left back in March, rejoined in December, it still went to offshore, or a foreign accent with not great English on a poor line with background noise going on.

I think they filter your initial request to leave then make first offer and when that fails, you may be lucky and get a transfer. I got messed around and left, but 8 months on FTTC did my head in due to low upload speed more than download, and black Friday and perksatwork.com offer meant I rejoined with a good deal for Gig1.

That is unfortunate however I'd assume you'd be able to deduce that most people would come to that conclusion by themselves if it was a possibility. Will try them at 8am. Thanks
