Access to O2 without VM account

If… I were to pack my bags and say goodbye to VM…

Presumably VM would (eventually) delete my account and email etc… and my VM/O2 ID(?)

But… I continue to have contracts with O2 for my mobiles…

So how does that affect me if I still want to use my dreaded VM/O2 ID to log in, just to O2… Is it still available?

I am assuming that this so-called new linked ID is held by VM and there is no way they have any knowledge of my contracts for my mobiles… so it would not necessarily be retained.

Would this be a problem or am I missing something?

    So that you can get the best out of managing your account online, it’s best to create just one Virgin Media O2 ID and link both of your Virgin Media and O2 accounts to it. 

    If you don’t want to do that, you can create two separate Virgin Media O2 IDs, and link one to each of your Virgin Media and O2 accounts. You’ll need to use two different email addresses (that belong to you) to set this up.

      Thanks, but that's not quite the issue... I was sorta asking what happens when you don't have a VM contract any more... but just want to retain O2 access.

        You would have a separate  VMO2ID simply for the O2 account.

    Hello Tony_

    Thanks for your question.

    Please keep those bags unpacked for as long as possible.

    If you did decide to leave us, your VM online account and email address will remain open for up to 90 days.

    After that, you will still be able to log in to the O2 account with your combined ID.

    That sorta maybe is the answer.. I am not sure...

    If I leave... then as you say... my email address will remain open for 90 days....I understand that... 

    But if my VM/O2 ID is also my email address.. then it will be deleted... And if it is deleted... then my VM/O2 ID goes with it... 

    That is how I am reading it...

    Yes?  No?

    (As I can no longer access my main account... Or emails  or anything except a secondary account which gives me an VM/O2 ID for O2 access... I didn't really want to lose that as well.. so... lets look at a new suitcase)
