01 First thoughts: Virgin Media Pre-Contract customer !
To all,
Firstly, my current provider XLN for many years decided to increase my monthly payment (tariff) by 44% noting this was necessary due to the rising costs going forward to maintain legacy technology from the UK landlines being phased out to digital. This was in breach of my agreed contract & only 5 months in from my renewal. This seemed very dubious, so decided to look for another supplier.
I chose Virgin Media with their M125 Fibre Broadband & Weekend chatter as a similar monthly cost to XLN & VM had a fiber cable outside my house in the pavement.
The costs for this as noted on my Virgin Media Contract Information Sheet is as follows:-
Initial monthly cost: £29.99*
(* Your first bill will also include: £0.00 for One off charges plus a £0.00 Upfront payment)
Minimum contract length: 18 months
(Your monthly service cost from month 19 is currently £62.00)
Having noted the above, my first query is that VM sent me an e-mail stating my first bill will be £59.98 !
Therefore, is this in breach of my contract, as it states £0.00 in this regard, can this be clarified further please.
