Wifi parental controls

Hi all

Need some help as everything I have tried so far the kids seem to work around it. Have tried going through the child safe. Also by going onto router settings webpage and restricting certain devices at certain times. This one worked for a little while but now the kids have figured out how to get around it by messing with the DNS or mac address I'm not too sure.

I have read about putting the router into modem mode and using third party router like Google WiFi or TP link which gives better parental controls. Does anyone have any experience with this or have any other routers to recommend?

    Not sure how good home routers are at blocking DNS if changed on the device but even with the best firewall you might not be able to stop them completely.
