Deactivation of old Blueyonder.co.uk email

Having moved house over 7 years ago, leaving Virgin at the same time as the new property had no cable provision, the e-mail account associated with the Virgin account seems to have remained active and has now been hacked, leading to issues on other website - how can I ensure this is deactivated/deleted to prevent further issues?

    On our wavelength

Give it a day or so (possibly a bit later due to Christmas) and a member of the forum team will get to this thread, they will offer to contact you via DM (direct message) to get further details and arrange to have the email address deleted.

But, just out of curiosity, may I ask you something? When you left VM some seven years ago, you knew that your existing VM-branded email addresses would be (or should be) deleted, some three months later. Surely, did you not go through all of your contacts and accounts and disassociate the old VM email address with them, in favour of your new one.

So, on that basis, what does it matter that your old address has been hacked and taken over, it’s no longer associated with you, you surely have changed the email address on every other company that matters?

Please don’t get me wrong, I am absolutely not blaming you for this predicament, I am genuinely interested as to why this seems to be an issue for you and many others who report the same thing.
