Clearing Clients website from Virgin Media Blacklist

Hi I am a developer assisting a client who owns the domain: https://www.matthewmaran.com/

They had reported that clients who were Virgin Media customers were blocked from accessing the website.

We investigated the website and took necessary action to remove any offending items that would be triggering flags. We reviewed VirusTotal and sent requests to any organisations that had flagged the website, to rescan and update their status.

VirusTotal now reports this as clear.

To ensure that VM customers don't have this issue, I sent a request to Virgin Media Internet Security Team via https://virginmedia.com/netreport.

Their response was:

Hi,

Please call our Technical support centre who will help you deal with your query, call them free on 150 from your Virgin phone, or local rate on 0345 454 1111.

This is where I am stuck. Because I am not a VM Customer, the automated phone system won't let me speak to a person. My client is not a customer either.

I would be very grateful for direction on how I can speak to the relevant team to remove my clients website from the VM Blacklist.

Thank you for your consideration

  • Hey nutyga, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear you are having some issues accessing website.

I have checked this website out and this has worked for me, how many Virgin Media customers are having issues getting on this website?

I have tried it on a few devices connected to a Virgin Media connection and this has worked okay.

You can try and email the above email address also, with any examples.

  • Thank you for checking.

initially it was quite a few reports to the client in October. Since then I submitted requests for re-classification. This seems to have worked.

The Virgin team have confirmed that the website has now been reclassified.
