Unable to login to a specific webpage

Built a new PC yesterday with Windows 11. Installed bitdefender. Able to access all websites. Except my email and webspace provider at heartinternet.uk. The site times out. Trace route from my router confirms this. No problems with any other site. I have no email thus can not continue to set up the new pc until access to this site is provided. Secondly I can access the site via 4g and mobile but as soon as I connect through wifi and my router I can not.

    We have VM Child Safe and Virus Safe disabled.

    Access to  heartinternet.uk  worked via our VM connection :

    Manually set your PC’s DNS to use Cloudflare.  1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 or if you need Adult filtering use 1.1.1.3 and 1.0.0.3

      Thanks but using a third party solution doesn't seem right to me, there must be a problem that needs to be identified first.

        The “problem” does not need to be identified.  Just read the many posts about Websafe not working etc.  it’s just easier to use your own DNS of choice.

    The problem happened when VM did web safe as VM system for web safe is messy their will be problems.

    you can use VM other DNS servers 194.168.4.123 and 194.168.8.123

  • So far Ive tried ...

    Fresh windows 11 install with minimal options

    different DNS providers

    Not using a VPN

    this website is not working on any other device connecting through VM but ok when I go through mobile.

    This became apparent suddenly last night post installation of windows 11 on a new build.

    Even more weird is that there are other services at Heart Internet such as their webmail site which is working fine.

  • Ok so now ive discovered that the IP address Ive been provided by VM has been blacklisted. Just a long line in a list of screw ups by VM. Seriously.

      I know I'm late to this thread, you don't say what blacklist your VM IP is on, but most residential IP's are on a number of blacklists by design.  These blacklists are used by mail exchangers but would not affect normal browser and mail client connections.  The most common ones are SORBS DUHL and Spamhaus' PBL (Policy Block List).

      It's more likely that your connection is being blocked at the destination end for other reasons, it's worth reaching out to them to see if they can check their firewall and unblock you.

    Check what IPs are returned to you from: NSLOOKUP heartinternet.uk

    Below is using the VM DNS i.e. the default DNS :

    C:\Users\Philip>nslookup heartinternet.uk
    Server: cache1.service.virginmedia.net
    Address: 194.168.4.100

    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name: heartinternet.uk
    Addresses: 2a0e:acc0::c23
    2a0e:acc0::c24
    45.138.107.23
    45.138.107.24

    This second lookup is using Google Public DNS :

    C:\Users\Philip>nslookup heartinternet.uk 8.8.8.8   ( identical IPs are returned, VM are not blocking for us ).
    Server: dns.google
    Address: 8.8.8.8

    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name: heartinternet.uk
    Addresses: 2a0e:acc0::c24
    2a0e:acc0::c23
    45.138.107.24
    45.138.107.23
