OOPs. we couldn’t connect to Virgin box1

Similar to the numerous posts I have read on line, we are experiencing the same problem.  Programs recoded on box 1 play back ok.  Recordings recorded on box 2 or 3 do not play back and give the message - OOPs.  we couldn't connect to virgin box 1.  Same happens when we try to watch something that has been recorded via box 1 back through box 2 or 3.

Any ideas or suggestions to resolve please (we have tried all of the previously advised steps, checking cables, not having eco setting etc).

  • Hi, I had this issue and just found out my problem.

    i use a mesh wi-fi network on top of the wi-fi network the VM broadband hub provides.

    My main virgin TV box, which is in the living room, was on the mesh wi fi and my bedroom TV box was on the VM broadband network.

    I switched the bedroom TV box to the Mesh wi-fi network so both TV boxes were on the same network and this worked.

    basically, make sure all your TV boxes are on the same wi-fi network.

      Or you could set the SSID and passwords on the two systems to be the same.  This should alleviate the issue.

    i have the same issue its intermittant and its not the connection as it says strong in the menus recently its just saying it cant play this recording and has an error previously it would buffer and not play
