No recording - alternative

I've just taken first steps to switch from Sky to Virgin for broadband/tv.

We have full fibre broadband  - does that mean we will only get a Stream Box, on which I'm led to believe  you cannot record, and does this mean (for example) I can't watch a sports match (on TNT for example) which I've missed?

if there is a problem in doing this can I request a box which allows recording? (360?!?) or do I need to cancel my order?

Are there any particular events/sports matches that you would be hoping to watch?

Although not all programs/events are available, a selection of both Sky Sports and TNT events and  programs are available under the Sports section  of  the TV Shows rail top-level menu option via catch up and on demand services.

      Thanks

Nothing in particular just anything which I fancy but is being shown when I'm not available to watch 'live'.

On sky you simply set the box in  advance to record,

As of November 2024, Sky have also demoted their recording product (SkyQ) from front line sales. All the front line packages are now streaming boxes or TVs as standard.

Just as SkyQ requires a dish to access broadcast TV, VMs V360 recording product requires linear broadcast TV to be pumped down a copper coaxial TV cable. Hence TV can only be offered in traditional cabled areas. Even in these areas, FTTP is now being installed next to coax for when the old system becomes life expired.

If you are unsure what network type area you are in, zoom in on the map via the linked page below. Light Blue dots in an area denote the new XGS-PON FTTP services. All other areas showing any other colour should be good for V360 recording boxes.

You can get a 360 at extra cost -if- you are in an area served by the older co-ax cables.  If you’re in a new Nexfibre XSG-PON FTTP area it’s the Stream box only.
