Contract renewal 2024
Hi, im not sure if anyone can help, but I’m just after a bit of advice / guidance really. i have been with VM for just under 4 years, using for broadband only. I’m currently on the 1 gig plan and my contract is due for renewal in Aug. I have received my renewal offer email and this is slightly more than I am currently paying. I tried on several occasions to use the online chat system to see if any deals available, but got disconnected on both tries after a lengthy process of transferring and waiting. So I tried ringing the 0345 454 1111 number and got through to retention’s and a very unhelpful gentleman. Ive broken down below the info I have on prices etc; curreently paying 46.24 Renewal email offer 48.24 Retentions phone call offer 62.00 New customers are being offered the same package for 40,00 or 39.99 with an o2 sim. sky are offering a similar speed (900mb) for 43.00 I raised a complaint after the call, as I found the agent to be belittling and at times condescending, but this doesn’t appear to be very helpful either. VM emailed this in reply, “unfortunately, we will not be able to offer the same package as the new customer because they get a promotional discount at the point of joining Virgin Media, as you would have gotten while joining us and post that it will be a standard discount for the customers”. Although I understand this principle, it doesn’t really give the impression that VM have any interest in retaining customers or appreciate loyalty. What should I do? Leave and rejoin in 18 months? Take the slightly higher renewal offer and then another price increase in April? I normally would cancel and move to another supplier, but due to a family members current health condition, I really can’t risk being without any service during switch over and could do without the hassle at the moment to be honest. sorry for moaning, any help very much appreciated. thanksSolved2.2KViews1like6CommentsVirgin media 1gig deal - legit or scam?
Our 1gig broadband promo offer has come to an end and going up from £26 to £75. I spoke to virgin and the best they were able to offer was £46/month. I told them to terminate the service. I searched virgin media deals on Facebook and came across a post of a private individual advertising VM broadband packages. I reached out and the deal is £36.99 + extra £90 credit for the same 1gig broadband-only package, 18 month contract. It would have to be set up as a new customer which shouldn’t be a problem as I can just put it on my partner’s name. The person claims they work for Virgin Media. To verify this, I asked him to send me a written confirmation of this offer via email, from his VM domain. I figured if it’s a scammer, they would make some excuse as to why they cannot do this. But within minutes I received the email exactly as requested. The email outlined all the specifics of the deal, the name matches that on his Facebook account and the email address it came from is <hisname>@virginmediao2.co.uk. Screenshot of the email below. The email signature is his name, position (Account Field Executive) and mobile number. He said the contract is with Virgin Media and everything goes through them including direct debit etc. So I am wondering.. Can this be legit or does it seem too good to be true? What other checks can I carry out to confirm it’s authentic? Are there ways to spoof a domain? If it’s a scam, how does it work? Would appreciate any relevant insights on this 🙂 many thanks in advance!1.6KViews0likes11CommentsMixit for £5 offer
I have tried for the past two weeks to get the £5 mixit offer on my app and the website . I’ve ordered it twice and both times got a confirmation order and then nothing ! When contacting Virgin noone knows anything about it and cannot match the offer or actually give it to me because my contract hasn’t ended ! Please can someone just explain to me how I get this offer ! I just want the 360 box and Mixit channels back , I’m so frustrated and have tried again today to get the package but again no one at Virgin can sort it out !758Views0likes4CommentsRenewal offer was not met, 264mb for 24 pounds but I am paying 55 pounds
Got offered 264mb for 24 pounds so that I wouldn’t leave virgin media, now they refuse to give it to me. Hello, we had to move houses in may 2024 and I decided it was a good chance to get a new contract with another provider as my contract with virgin media had finished. I decided to open a live chat and talk to them about ending my services. However, I got an offer which I couldn’t resist. I got told I would get 264mb for 24 pounds if I were to stay. I said yes and I got told that I had to contact once I had gotten to the new house. Once I arrived at the new address, I contacted them 5 times and each time they said they couldn’t match that offer, each time with different reasons such as they just can’t, it hasn’t been a month which means that I can’t get a discount, it hasn’t been 48 hours so I can’t get a discount… They even put me on a ghost 7 hour long waiting queue. One day I realised that I suddenly had much higher speeds than my previous M125 contract. So I contacted virgin media as they had given me the 264mb but it was for 54 pounds a month. Once I got someone to agree that I was given a deal and that 48 hours had passed, I got told that I would get the updated price within the next few days. Yesterday I just got an email saying that I had no contract with virgin media and that my current price was 54 per month. I have tried contacting but I literally got put in another blank queue which I was not going to keep waiting in like last time. What can I actually do. I have submitted a complain and I am waiting for their replies. Sadly I couldn’t submit any of the screenshots while filing the complaint.578Views1like5CommentsApril bill rise and June renewal offer
Hi Current bill is £50/month. April bill rise now £54.40/month. Renewal offer for June showed “My current package £58.80”. Where's the £58.80 come from? I’ve already had the price increase by £4.40 on the £50. Has that messed up what renewal offers are showing if incorrect? Couldn't I just renew at £54.40? Thanks for any help - but I was brought here by the VM help page and don’t think a board exists for my enquiry.308Views0likes0CommentsRenewal offer not honoured, online offer
Hi, My contract was due to expire next month; 350mb Volt broadband, Talk Weekends, Talk Extra 100 for £27. An offer on my account had the 'keep your existing package' for £39, then clicked a few links to decline it and got it down to £33. I queried over chat if this includes the Talk Extra 100 and they said it did (I have the transcript). Strangely they could only offer me the same deal for £39, then £35 then £34 no lower. They wondered why I didn't want to take up the offer. I accepted the online offer of £33, now I've had the contract documents through and the Talk Extra 100 has been removed. Has anyone had a similar experience and how do I proceed to either get Talk Extra 100 added back, or price re-negotiated. I don't mind dropping down a speed to keep weekend + talk 100, or weekend + evening calls. Raise a complaint or call 150 ? Thanks, DJ.Solved639Views0likes4Comments
