Want to move Thunderbird email data to Outlook
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone here can help. I've recently backed up many of my old Thunderbird emails, which are in MBOX format. Now, I want to move everything to Microsoft Outlook, but I just realized Outlook doesn't support MBOX files directly. Has anyone here successfully converted MBOX files to PST? I’m looking for a method that doesn’t mess up the folder structure or email formatting. Free tools seem hit or miss, and I don’t want to risk losing data. Any help or recommendations would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.157Views0likes2Comments3rd Party Email Clients
Forgive me, but I posted this question to a different group, and I'm afraid the few answers I was given, habe left me even more perplexed. Hope you don't mind if I try here, issue as follows. Has anyone managed to solve the 3rd party email issue, as a result of virgin e-mail's security upgrade some weeks ago. Webmail works, I think I tested Outlook too, but I've been with Thunderbird for years. Would like to be able to continue doing so, but constantly been getting the password error (You know how frustrating it is if you've experienced it). The solution has something to do with Google App, but cant remember the rest of it. Tech support have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, no surprise there, doesn't appear on their onscreen instructions obviously. Outside their remit, perhaps, in other words, not their fault. But there has to be a permanent fix, at least I hope there is?? Thank you group.45Views0likes1Commentemail content slow to load using thunderbird
I use Thunderbird as an email client, and a POP connection to download emails. This has worked pretty well for years. In the last few weeks the email content has been very slow to load. Although the list of emails in the inbox in Thunderbird appears quickly, when I select an email to view its content there is a delay of perhaps 5s while it says 'Loading Message...'. There is a similar delay when deleting a message. Once a message has been loaded, it can be re-visited without a delay, but if marked as unread there is again a delay next time it is read. Also I'm occasionally getting pop-ups telling me the connection to the server is lost (or something to that effect). I have another account using an IMAP connection which doesn't suffer from any delay, although I also get pop-ups complaining about the IMAP server. Anyone alse seeing this?Solved1KViews0likes3CommentsOne rogue VM (secondary) account in a cluster of other VM accounts refuses to work.
I have one VM account (one of several secondary accounts) which has refused to accept input for some weeks. Thunderbird is email client. Up to 28th May VM/ThunderBird had worked without issue across a score of accounts on Ubuntu 22.04 desktop. There are no signs of email bouncing. They are swallowed now by this black hole account. I have tried changing rogue account password to no avail. Utter confusion in navigating VM links and ThunderBird dashboard probably screwed up other accounts. I also have ThunderBird on Windows (dual boot which I rarely use). I cannot get into VM server through ThunderBird Windows which I just tried. I am back in Ubuntu as I pen my journey through VM and ThunderBird. I can forward locally from one VM account to others. But just NOT to this particular rogue account. What I would like to do is apply a single password to every account (seen from Ubuntu and later Windows). Once all accounts (a score of accounts) are working I can if necessary apply unique password per account. But I will need to write an automation script (later) for this workflow. There is further complication since I am asked now to use a non VM email account for verification. So Gmail accounts (seen in ThunderBird alongside VM) are used. I read a tip in this forum to test email accounts using curl. I have started writing a multi account curl script for this quick analysis on a batch of accounts but right now I just need this rogue account to come back into service. Any VM/ThunderBird forensic users here to offer advice? Any VM “MRI scan” available? How are multiple passwords synced between VM and Thunderbird? I would like a one stop shop for multi account administration. Further Thoughts. Added note: This particular secondary VM account had worked for some time. Then I used it as an MX forwarding address from a domain in construction. Google Domains transferred their global estate of domains to SquareSpace and whether concidental or not my problems occurred then. I have since deleted domain MX records forwarding rule for that domain which pointed to this non receiving secondary account. And I am looking back through the correspondents I can view in archived profile so that I can systematically isolate this secondary account and perhaps delete it after I have extracted profile for backup and perhaps import to another account. There are multiple actors in play. SquareSpace, VirginMedia, ThunderBird.987Views0likes6Comments
