Hub 4 with no RF Signal after thunder storm
Just had a thunderstorm, and after what seemed like a very close bolt of lightning, my internet cut out. The Hub 4 said 'No RF Signal Detected', and eventually a red flashing light. I had tried powering it off again 4 times. No luck. I spent 90 minutes on the phone, being passed around to 4 different people, all just going through their script. Even trying to get advice on where the Hub backup / restore option was, was met with confusion and passing me on to someone else. Very frustrating. Eventually managed to do a factory reset. Still no luck. The last agent on the phone was telling me she was sending data to my Hub and getting a response, but I don't see how that is possible with no RF being detected my end. This has happened once before, is it just bad luck, or has my cable been installed incorrectly and this is likely to happen again? Any ideas how I can get back online? We do have an engineer coming over the weekend, but obviously would like to resolve this sooner if possible. For now I've just unplugged the Hub and going to try it again in an hour or so.547Views0likes3CommentsNo RF Signal Detected - afternoon and evening
So... for the past three days the internet connection fails with either an RF signal or internet registration failure. It fine in the morning but fails in the afternoon and remains with an error all evening. I noticed that the TV signal is also disrupted with jagged artifacts and picture degradation. Both issues are fine the next morning. Anyone any clues? (TBH, am thinking of just switching to a 5g mobile broadband service - anyone know if you can get TV via a 5g service privider?)4.3KViews0likes7CommentsHub 4 flashing red light
I’ve woken up today to a flashing red light on my Hub 4. The router admin web page shows the error “Internet (No RF signal detected)”. Broadband and phone service are both down. I’ve followed the self-service steps (switch off/on at the wall, check cables) but it’s still the same: flashing red light, no service. I’ve checked the cable outside the house: this is just about 30cm of cable going from the plastic box straight down the wall into the ground, and is completely intact. VM status is saying there’s no outage in the local area. Nothing has changed with our setup overnight (or indeed in recent months): no changes to cabling or router location, no power cuts, etc. The only unusual factor is very strong storm winds overnight but that hasn’t caused any physical damage at home and (as mentioned above) the cable coming into the house is underground apart from the last 30cm or so. I’m in an M33 postcode. Any help?Solved3KViews0likes2Comments
