Best settings for using TPlink Deco
Having VM (Nexfibre) installed today for the first time. I currently have an rubbish copper openreach line, with Vodafone hub used as a switch/router but no wifi and then TP link deco (M4?) doing the mesh wifi that I do not want to lose. TV, xbox etc are all local and plugged into vodafone hub rather than use wifi. Am I best to do similar with my VM hub (using it as ethernet switch/DHCP/DNS) or would I do better in modem mode, use deco as router and buy a little switch? (I note there is a similar question here that recommended modem mode and a switch chained off the primary deco - Deco M4 Setup with M200 - Virgin Media Community - 4613652 so will do that unless anyone recommends something better as something has changed in last few years)Solved1.8KViews0likes3CommentsHub 5 & Deco S4
Hi, I've recently signed up with VM and have got the Gig1 Volt Fibre Broadband package. I have the Deco S4's and wanted to connect them to the Hub 5 and use them as Wi-Fi's (I know I wont get 1gig speed over wifi with these) and I was going to connect my TV, console and PC via ethernet to the Hub 5 Should I put the hub 5 into modem mode and use the Deco S4's as access points so I can get wi-fi around the house and garden and still use the ethernet ports at the back of the hub 5? Or if there is a better solution please let me know.1.8KViews0likes11CommentsVirgin media Hub & Deco M4
Hi, I’m looking to get VM and wanted to connect my deco m4 to it. Is it possible to use just the Ethernet ports and not the WiFi on the vm router? And use the deco m4 for WiFi? And does this sort out the issue of the WiFi dropping out on the VM routers?1.4KViews0likes11Comments
