ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Issues with my Hub 4 I have today reset my Hub 4 using the recommended 60 seconds pin reset which restored factory settings and can report back that it successfully has both 2.4 and 5 GHz default signals enabled, so a massive thanks goes out to @Client62, @newapollo and @Aduxxi. Just by doing this I can see my general 2.4 GHz reliability has improved and adding the VM Pod has done away with one of my dead spots in the house. Thank you to all :-) Re: Issues with my Hub 4 I appreciate all the helpful responses and will attempt the 60 sec reset as detailed with all ethernet cables disconnected from the router. The configuration has been as per listed from @newapollo so all requirements had been met apart from the enablement of the 5 GHz band. I'll shortly report back the outcome. @Client62 your response 'As you are heavily focused on the 2.4GHz WI-Fi devices, do be aware the Hub 5 with Wi-Fi on both bands is often not recognised by 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 4 only IoT / Printers / older laptops.' is interesting statement; does this mean that anyone with non-complaint WiFi 6 devices will not work on the Hub 5 and if so why would VM be pushing an upgrade for all customers with Hub 3/4 to Hub 5, which believe is already underway in 2025 and will continue into the new year. Issues with my Hub 4 FAO Virgin Media Support Team, I have been experiencing significant WiFi drop outs across all my devices no matter the distance from the Hub 4, but this has only been brought to my attention recently as I signed up to a new 24 month contract which included a WiFi Pod (Booster). My Hub 4 configuration: WiFi 2.4 GHz enabled and 5 GHz disabled Smart WiFi disabled as this is known to result in bad connection stability With my WiFi Pod the requirement is to enable Smart WiFi and at this point I thought to enable 5 GHz and discovered a fault in my Hub 4. Enabling the settings for 5 GHz does not stick after clicking on 'Apply' buttons even though I receive a success prompt for the settings change. After navigating away and back to the Wireless > Wireless Signal page I see that 5 GHz is disabled and the section fields are greyed out. The configured SSID for 5 GHz on the Wireless > Security page is shown but is certainly not being broadcast confirming that it is not enabled. I have tried various combinations of disabling 2.4 GHz and only enabling 5 GHz and enabling and disabling Smart WiFi with no success. I have search on ChatGPT for a solution and tried out given options even a reboot of the Hub 4 and still no success. I am out of all options as I have tried every possible combination to try to get 5 GHz enablement to stick. There seems to be a firmware fault in my Hub 4! Not sure if this is a known bug. End of the day I have likely had problems with constant WiFi drop outs due to potential issues with my Hub, most noticeable recently when I installed my WiFi door Ring device which is close to the router but constantly observe drop-outs, which is not acceptable. The objective with getting the WiFi Pod was to get coverage in poor coverage area in my home but I need resolution of the underlying Hub 4 issue first as I want to enable both bands. I suspect that my Hub 4 is faulty and I understand that VM is upgrading all customers to the new Hub 5. As a customer just signed into a new contract I would kindly request that I be sent a Hub 5 as a replacement to resolve my issues as this is the best course of action which will in turn improve my WiFi stability with WiFi 6 coverage. Thanks in advance, Manjit SolvedRe: Hidden email folders that do not appear in VM webmail client nor Outlook but does in Email app on mobile Hi, There has been some delay in my response but the issue still persists and I would definitely want this issue raised to the Forum Team for resolution, please. If the \Noselect attribute can be unset for the problematic folders then I should be able to see them in my email client and delete them or manage them as I want. The folders that I have this problem with in my VM mailbox are as follows: Only the folders stated in bold are the issue not the ones in italic... BYOD Work (Temp) Career and Employment E.ON Home Bills 1. Energy Insurance Policies I look forward to confirmation of resolution. Thank you, 用心棒, for you guidance. Hidden email folders that do not appear in VM webmail client nor Outlook but does in Email app on mobile I have been having issues with VM emails ever since the crash in June 2023 and recently found some resolution with email folders reported on a separate post https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Email/email-folders/m-p/5378428#M264233. However, the last problem I can't solve is that my email account seems to have folders that are not visible on the VM webmail client nor on Outlook, but on Email app in Samsung phone I can see the folders greyed out. For example and see with screenshots provided: There is a folder 'BYOD Work (TEMP) folder' greyed out shown on Email app on phone If I were to go to VM webmail client in browser I do not see this folder If I proceed to create a folder in VM webmail client with the identical name it creates the folder with the name and a 1 added to it, i.e. 'BYOD Work (TEMP) 1', which means there is already a folder in existence hence whey 1 was added to the newly created one. I have many of these they of folders and want to know how I can resolve these so they show up and I can delete them. They only show up on the mobile Email app but are greyed out and I cannot select to manage. Seems the IMAP folders are more messed up since the VM crash - any insightful people who can help will be greatly appreciated, thanks. SolvedRe: VM email in Outlook has vanished I have managed to resolve most the problems with my email folders - the issue was more involved and the suggested answer was of no help. Instead I found the solution at the linked post below, basically it is due to the email crash since June 2023 and it messed up the folder permission which needed to be restored and done by creating a folder with the folder with an issue - it can then be deleted. https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Email/email-folders/m-p/5378428#M264233 Kudo to the insightful person who provided the solution in the other post. VM email in Outlook has vanished I was yesterday renaming my folders within my VM email inbox in Outlook and could see they had been successfully renamed, but on opening Outlook today my emails have simply vanished as the folder is now reporting no items in folder, which is clearly not correct as I had many emails in the folders. I have already done a search in all mailboxes for an email I expect to be in there and no luck. Has anyone else experience this issue? I have already checked on the VM web mail client and it is the same there too, something bizarre has gone wrong and not sure if this is due to an issue at VM mail side. My mailbox is setup for IMAP and as I said after making the folder rename changes it all looked good in Outlook, so assumed it should have synced to VM mail servers. Specific change was: Inbox --> ADS renamed to Inbox --> 1. ADS What I found today was the following: Inbox --> 1. ADS Inbox --> ADS I got the old folder and the renamed folder both are now empty - what could have happend. I have also scanned the .ost file and carried out a repair where flagged, but this did not fix the issue. Please, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
