That's just stupid from Virgin, I am literally next to the router and it's connecting to a pod several meters away How do I connect to the main router and not the pods? Hi, I have had issues with speed in the back bedroom and have now received a pod to sort this which seems to be doing ok. It was around 1-2mb download and is now at 70mb although the router is showing 1200mb download. Anyway the issue is when in the living room or kitchen which is literally 1 to 3 metres from the main router it seems to be a lower speed since the pod has been put in place. Are all my devices now connecting to the pod and not the main router? If that's the case I now have a 70mb connection across about 30 devices which isn't going to work. I am getting around 50-70 on every device in the house now except the ones wired to the router which is only 2. Thanks Re: Upgraded to 1GB yesterday.. I currently have to use a 3rd party router to extend the Wi-Fi upstairs If it is that they are locked down its fine i can just scrap the router, i could use it as a repeater if needed for down in my shed (as i have no ethernet connection down there). I cant easily put it in the open as the cable wont stretch to make it in the open, it would mean re-arranging the cable and everything. I just want to refrain from buying a mesh network as it would cost a fortune when i thought the pods would do it . Re: Upgraded to 1GB yesterday.. I currently have to use a 3rd party router to extend the Wi-Fi upstairs Well my hub is based under the stairs and the only connection that was full speed was the hive heating we had connected via ethernet which was also under the stairs. Nothing else worked so I had to buy this extra router which now reaches the whole of the house but it's just bulky and in the way. I am in the middle of a loft conversion so will be putting the router in there eventually but would prefer in the meantime to just use the new hub and possible adapters but keep getting refused Upgraded to 1GB yesterday.. I currently have to use a 3rd party router to extend the Wi-Fi upstairs Hi, I have just upgraded from 250mb to 1gb speed and i am wanting to know if the signal will be better than the current hub 3.0 i have? I had to buy a seperate router to extend the Wi-Fi signal upstairs and into a few other rooms as the signal was transferring fast enough or even at all in some cases. Will the new hub i am going to receive make the 3rd party one pointless? I am wanting to remove the router as its in the way but if i have to use it then i will have to keep it. I did ask for some Wi-Fi boosters previously and was told no, is this something i could have with my new package? seen as i am paying more monthly than i have previously. Thanks Re: Full WiFi signal but no internet Yes I have used the app but it shows good connection because it is connected all the time just the internet goes on and off. Once it connects after a few minutes it does the speed test and then goes off again. It is getting worse and I am just going to go out and buy a router to make it easier as I need it sorting quickly Re: Full WiFi signal but no internet That is an option but it's an added cost. Why should I pay £39 a month to buy extra equipment Re: Full WiFi signal but no internet I have wirelessly 5 phones/2 laptops/3 tablets/ring doorbell/4 TVs/ 3 fire sticks Then 2 pcs and a hive that is wired The wired ones are the same upstairs, the ones downstairs have now started going off intermittently. I currently work from home and every time the connection goes I have to resign in to the work laptop then work vpn and work software which is just taking forever and it's happening about a dozen times a day. We have no fish tanks or anything Full WiFi signal but no internet Hi, I have started having issues lately where if I go upstairs I still have full signal but the internet just goes off then comes back on then goes off again. As though it's buffering. I do a speedtest and when it connects it's full speed. When downstairs there is no issue which I don't understand. It just seems to drop from full to more or less full then back to full which makes me have no internet. This is the same for all devices. I have tried rebooting/factory reset/change name of 2ghz. A few other things too, this is something recent but nothing as changed can you advise? I know the hub is oldish now and I think it's probably had its day as the signal isn't as powerful as it once was. What could I do to sort it?
