Just the ethernet cable to that goes into my PC . Thats it . Everything else is wireless on an EE router . I like to have an internet soley for gaming / Working from home. Oh really i thought cat 8 were good because they allow faster speeds? Its the same ethernet cable i was using when i have my 350mbps and i was getting closer to 400 that 350 then. Yeah this one clearly has been used as they didnt even bother cleaning the dust of of it and also the rubber bits at the bottom were torn off . Samknows was the speed test i was using which is how i discovered the 300-400mbps speed lost between my router and cable and discorevered the faulty port . Im not sure how doing a speed test on those will resolve the faulty 2.5gbps port though?ive pluged the ethernet into ever other port using a different combination of ethernet cables and all of them will get an internet connection apart from the port labled "2.5gbps" .. i cant even get onto the router webpage when its plugged in , so not sure how i'll get a speed test out of that . I should expect brand new kit as its a brand new contract , How can they promise the speeds if its all second hand old kit thats got degredation ? It shouldnt be reused rented kit in the first place . No where in my contract says im going to be paying for second hand routers . They didnt even bother removing the dust from the vents i had to remove that myself , it was also missing any protective packaging in the box . I opened it and all i had was a cable and the hub in the box the tool they gave me to tighten the fibre cable ( Whi the tool didnt even fit the cable i had i used my old tool to tighten in the cable .) Also im not getting my internet speeds because ive paying for 1130 but im getting 700-800 on one device . When i do a speed tests i can see the router is receiveing close to the 1130mbps figure but between the router and my desktop the ethernet cable im losing 300-400mpbs through a CAT8 etherent cable. Thats not something i should expect . when investigating the ports at the back i find the 2.5gbps port is completely non functional and the other ports are ive tried are giving me speeds way less than i would expect through variance alone . with my 350 package i was easily able to get closer to 400 constantly because i put my router and my PC in the ideal place to get the best speeds . The only thing thats stoppping me not getting my speeds is the faulty router they have provided . I expect a brand new Hub not a broken one with a faulty 2.5gbps port when i buy a new contract . Finally had VM call me after i cancled my contract the other day and they gave me 1gig speeds at reasonable price . Issue is , they have sent me a second hand hub 5 which is a joke because the 2.5gbps port is the only port where i can get the internet speeds im paying for and that seems to be faulty . I've tried 3 sperate ethernet cables and all of them will work fine with all the other ports apart from the one labled 2.5gbps. Literally a few days after i start a new contract and VM are still F-ing me over , they mugged me off without breaking GDPR and with terrible deals and now i can't even get the speeds im paying for because they cant be bothered to send new functioning Hubs. Trying to renew and the offers are the worst offers around They are so bad that 500mb offer they gave me is more expensive than 1gig for new customers . All I've asked for is £39 a month for 1gig and no set up fees which is the deal on He offered for 1gig was £49 even though yesterday they gave me an offer £46 which is still not good enough . I've set up a cancellation date which is happening on the 2nd apparently these are ethe only deals they can offer fory account ..so there is obvious some kind of note to give me with bad deals or something even though I've been with virgin for like 10 years now . The fact you are trying to force loyal customers to accept worse deals is disgusting . I'm going to be making complaints to offcom about this .
