Finally the bank's technical team which hosts the website fixed the issue although they wouldn't tell me exactly what. Your support is xxxxx Re: connection refused trying to access website on virgin broadband Tried vpn on opera and still same error Re: connection refused trying to access website on virgin broadband Yes the ip is the same ... as previously replied ... i don't think this is a host name resolution issue... feels like virgin media have configured security setting for my broadband connection to believe this website is not genuine ping www.money2india.icicibank.co.uk Pinging ibci-orp-uk-tm01.trafficmanager.net [20.204.201.13] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 20.204.201.13: bytes=32 time=137ms TTL=109 Reply from 20.204.201.13: bytes=32 time=135ms TTL=109 Reply from 20.204.201.13: bytes=32 time=132ms TTL=109 Reply from 20.204.201.13: bytes=32 time=132ms TTL=109 Ping statistics for 20.204.201.13: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 132ms, Maximum = 137ms, Average = 134ms Re: connection refused trying to access website on virgin broadband Virgin marked my complaint as resolved ! Think the 1st line rep was just humouring me, basically nothing more he could do. So do I just live with the fact that my virgin media broadband cannot access genuine websites. I have opened a new issue C-0603253267 and hope there are community moderators who can assist me to escalate this within VM to fix this. Re: connection refused trying to access website on virgin broadband Tried google dns servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and the cloudfare servers above, but no joy. Still the same error. I don't think this is a host name resolution issue, rather a security configuration by virgin media on my specific broadband ip accessing the target website. It was working until Saturday 1/3/2025 on my virgin broadband. It works on other users' virgin media broadband. It works when i use mobile data (turning off WiFi). Re: connection refused trying to access website on virgin broadband Raised complaint C-0603253047 but the tech rep seems to think there is nothing more that virgin can do. Surely if the website is genuine, other virgin media customers can access it and I can't, seems like there is some security configuration that has denied my ip address access to the website https://www.money2india.icicibank.co.uk Re: connection refused trying to access website on virgin broadband Yes I found my friend also can get to the website using virgin media broadband. it seems my virgin media ip address has deemed this website as dodgy and so will not let me connect. Called Virgin Media, who turned off my virus protection but still not able to access the website. They told me they cannot do anything else to make this work. Had complaint ticket raised as I think (having worked in IT) virgin media should be able to mark this site safe for me. Need help from the community moderators to escalate this for me as it seems I just received help from 1st line support. Re: connection refused trying to access website on virgin broadband Same issue with https It seems virgin media has marked this website as dodgy. It works fine if I do not use virgin media broadband connection refused trying to access website on virgin broadband Cannot access the following website on my laptop or mobile phone configured to virgin media broadband. Get this error This site can’t be reached www.money2india.icicibank.co.uk refused to connect. When I turn off Wifi and use mobile network and tether my laptop to the mobile phone, I am able to access the the website perfectly fine. Issue ongoing since Sunday 2/3/2025 and I am not sure who in virgin media i can report this to ? I think its virgin media routers/network not trusting this site. Solved
