I am aware that many broadcasters are now looking to broadband for TV transmissions rather than through aerials or sky dishes which would leave many would be viewers sidelined due to the fact that not everyone has broadband. Currently there seems to be problems with streaming boxes which can be difficult to activate for one reason or another. I wonder if this is a common problem with Virgin Boxes? Are Virgin 360 Boxes Being Phased Out? Although I have around 14 months left on my current contract using Virgin 360 Box which is fine by the way, I get the feeling that these boxes might be phased out eventually to be replaced by Streaming Boxes. I also understand you cannot record on Streaming but have access to apps such as ITVX which carries previous transmissions of programmes such as soaps. Anyone aware of this? Re: Now TV query I use a Roku Stick to watch Now TV and the quality is very good. VM does not carry the Now TV App I'm afraid. Re: Picture Quality on Sky Sports UHD Rangers v Aberdeen I noticed when I watched Rangers v Aberdeen on Now TV on Roku Box, picture was very dark. Had to adjust picture mode on my TV. I guess it must have been a transmission fault. Re: package increasing 300 % Same thing happened to me a while back, was coming to the end of 18 month package, then a huge jump in pricing. I phoned Virgin and managed to haggle for a new 18 month contract saving at least £45 a month by cancelling Sky Sports, but was given Sky Cinema at no extra cost and a 500mgps broadband. Haggling is the best way, Virgin usually gives a decent deal because they cannot afford to lose too many customers. As for what you have suggested with your husband joining as a new customer, anything is worth trying. Good luck!! Re: New to Virgin 360 first impression! I quite like the 360 Box which I have been using for some time now. Never have a problem with it, great apps on view, easy to get around, was thinking of going back to Sky a few months ago using Sky Stream Puck, got the box with a good deal (or so I thought) and the box refused to work GGrrrrrrrrrrr. So, I sent it back got my money back and now got a new deal with Virgin for the same monthly bill I was paying before with Sky Cinema thrown in. Sticking with Virgin for the next 18 months at least. Re: Landline not working Mine went down last week, Virgin engineer turned up today and fixed it: apparently all landlines should now be attached to Router rather than phone socket. This is due to a nationwide switchover from analogue to digital, BT and Openreach are doing the same. Landline Failure Just noticed my landline has failed. Recently, I had a Hub 5 Router installed a couple of weeks ago, could be a coincidence. My landline is still attached to outside line and not Hub 5. So, I am wondering if the connection has been accidentally switched off. I tried ringing it from my mobile and it goes straight to voicemail. Anyone else had the same problem?? Re: Letter Usually an email when your contract is coming to an end, which is what happened to me. I got it sorted though with a new contract. Good luck! New Contract Set Up in a Jiffy Hello all after an iffy start with a Virgin Customer Service advisor who eventually disconnected me due to the fact we could not understand each other, I rang back and luckily got a customer service who was brilliant. Without any faffing about he set me up in a new 18 month contract at the same price I am paying now, less Sky Sports etc which I did not need anyway but kept Sky Cinema at no extra cost to me. Now, I know there have been a lot of complaints about Virgin Customer Service, but this time I got a gem, a big thank you to whoever it was.
